Od 1995. godine Liesbeth Bik i Jos van der Pol umjetnički djeluju kao Bik Van der Pol. Žive i rade u Rotterdamu (NL).
Umjetnički dvojac Bik Van der Pol nastoji proniknuti u načine na koje umjetnost proizvodi javnu sferu i prostor za spekulaciju i maštu. Njihova praksa obuhvaća forme mišljenja kroz koje se „javno“ definira, ali i stvara, a naslanja se na istraživanje načina za aktivaciju različitih oblika komunikacijskih aktivnosti. Modus njihova rada sastoji se kreiranja uvjeta za susret u kojem proces omogućuje kontinuirane rekonfiguracije prostora, historija i javnosti. Riječ je o site-specific i kolaborativnoj praksi, gdje dijalog služi kao modus transfera odnosno „prolaska kroz“, u etimološkom smislu shvaćen kao „govor koji protječe kroz i između dvoje ili više ljudi, iz kojega proizlaze nova shvaćanja.“ Drugim riječima, Bik Van der Pol element „prolaska kroz“ smatra ključnim; taj element je temporalan te implicira akciju i razvoj novih oblika diskursa. Praksa ovog umjetničkog dvojca istodobno je i pokretač i rezultat ove metode.

Bik Van der Pol osmislili su Master program za The School of Missing Studies u Sandberg Institute, Amsterdam (2013. –2015). Predavali su na M.I.T., Boston (2016.). Savjetnici su na Jan van Eijck akademiji u Maastrichtu. Redovito drže predavanja na sveučilištima, u umjetničkim institucijama i muzejima, mentori su Mondriaan fondacije. Liesbeth Bik bila je savjetnica za The Appel ICP (Amsterdam) do 2016.; ona je glavni mentor na Piet Zwart institutu (Rotterdam), i članica te trenutačna predsjednica na Akademie van Kunsten/Academy of Arts (KNAW).
