From Snježana Radetić's residency plan, we highlight:
"The residency would give me the opportunity to finalize the collection of stories for which I have been researching and writing for a year. The concept of the collection is to talk about women of all ages from the first female perspective. Through stories, I explore the relationships that carry a woman through life and the roles she accepts or avoids. She is a wife, mother, lover, grandmother, barren, daughter, neighbor, indecisive, abused, brave, looking for her place in society. The heroines of the story, among others, are women of the third age who cope with everything that this stage of life brings: a drop in life energy, weakness, anxiety and listlessness, perseverance, a deeper understanding of life, disintegration of beliefs, relief, freedom from life's concepts. I explore the space of freedom of a woman at a certain age and the whole range of causes that deprive her of that freedom. Since I myself belong to the population of the third age, the theme of the residence is intimately very intriguing to me. It's a big change, especially with retirement. The generation gap is getting bigger. It is easy to fall into despondency and the feeling of being redundant. Reduced physical activity also reduces the feeling of happiness, lack of dynamism increases anxiety. Reduced income takes away the feeling of freedom. On the other hand, it is possible to overcome this by accepting a new rhythm of life and a deeper understanding of existence."
