Saša Ćirić

Saša Ćirić, a literary critic and essayist, graduated from the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade. For over 22 years he has been working on Radio Belgrade 2, focusing on Serbian, regional, and Balkan literature. He has published several books of plays and radio dramas, literary criticism, essays, comparative analyses, which have been published in various locations such as Zrenjanin, Ulcinj, Zagreb, and Novi Sad. He authored a book of film reviews, mainly covering contemporary Hollywood cinema.

Ćirić has contributed to several anthologies and books, and his literary critiques have appeared in prominent Croatian publications, such as Zarez, Quorum, Tema, the Booksa.hr portal, and the weekly periodical Novosti. He was also one of the editors of Beton, a critical supplement to the Serbian daily newspaper Danas, from 2006 to 2019.

15.-30.09.2024.

During his residency in Rijeka, Ćirić plans to record interviews with local authors and participants at the Vrisak Festival for his program "Oko Balkana" on Radio Belgrade 2. The focus of his residency is the phenomenon of the third age, where he intends to explore the theme of aging and the life in financial scarcity in older age in contemporary Croatian and regional literature.

The residency is part of the Kamov literary program, supported by the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media, and named after Rijeka's most famous writer, Janko Polić Kamov. It aims to support authors in their creative work during their stay in Rijeka.
