  Raquel Versieux is an artist who lives between the two capitals of Brazilian states, Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte in Minas Gerais. She is currently completing her Master's degree in Visual Languages ​​at school Belas Artes in Rio de Janeiro, and has graduated at  Univeristy of Belas Artes of Minas Gerais. Also, she studied photography at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Visuels - La Cambre in Brussels and Social Sciences at the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil. In her works she articulates a political form of relations between people and landscape, particularly the use of natural resources and believes that there is an imbalance between the notion of culture and nature. In Rijeka she will focus on coal mine and will collaborate with local artists. She expresses through the medium of photography, drawing, collage, performance and video installation

• Programme - Rijeka

  In her works, the artist tries to articulate the political form of the relationship between man and nature/landscape, particularly the use of natural resources. Her focus of interest is an imbalance of understanding of nature and culture that comes in contact with our social status, as indicated by the subject matter in her works. As a medium she generally uses photography, collage, performance art, drawings, videos and installations. With this programme Rijeka opens its cultural scene Brazil by hosting Brazilian artist Raquel Versieux from Rio de Janeiro. The artist will  focus her artistic activity on the work of famos author Kamov. Throught this project Rijeka realizes important artistic trans-Atlantic cooperation which is not often the case for cities, not only from the Croatia, but also from the region. In addition to working on a specific work, the artist will, through residential program transmit their own artistic experience from another social and cultural context to local artists Rijeka. This work will surely strengthen and the artists in the city of Rijeka, which will be included in this program. In addition to direct work on the project, the artist will make two public presentations of her past work for a wider audience as an additional opportunity for the citizens of Rijeka to get acquainted with the artistic creativity of Brazil.

  Domino is a non-governmental, non-partisan, non-profit association based in Zagreb, which operates through culture, media, public policy, education and collaboration with local and international organizations. Arts and culture is the largest segment of the organization's activities, exploring diverse expressions directed toward the development of a more just and a more open society. Within a culture is expressed through festivals actions: Perforations Festival takes place annually in three Croatian cities, Zagreb, Rijeka and Dubrovnik and presents a wide range of artists from the Balkans whose interpretations are based on the dance, theatrical and artistic expression as well as transitional and border areas and disciplines . Special Projects are: Night performances and Artists Base. Activities of the organization under the name Domino Queer include the full range of events and initiatives whose common goal is to strengthen the LGBT community in Croatia for life without discrimination. The biggest event that started everything, Queer Zagreb Festival, was an international festival of theater, dance and visual arts and now this area of activities is carried out under the name Queer seasons throughout the year, and in collaboration with other organizations, and also outside of Zagreb (Queer Split festival). Special projects: a monthly film program Queer Moment and publishing.  Alongside with its activities in the field of culture, the association operates in the field of media, public policy and education. Regional LGBT portal monitors Queer.hr topics relevant to LGBT issues in Croatia, the region, and globally. Program policy is carried out in collaboration with Zagreb Pride, Center for Peace Studies and Association LORI largely through collaboration within the Centre for LGBT Equality, established by the above stated organizations.
