Mori Ponsowy (1967) is a novelist, poet, journalist, editor and translator. She was born in Argentina but she grew up in Perú and Venezuela. She has also lived in the United States. She has a major in Philosophy, a Masters Degree in Political Sciences and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and Magazine Publishing. She has written three novels, two poetry books and two books of interviews. She has also translated two books from North American women poets. Her first novel, “Los colores de Inmaculada” received the Cáceres Award in Spain. Her first poetry collection, “Enemigos afuera”, received the Premio Iniciación de la Secretaría de la Nación Argentina and a Honorary Mention from the Fondo Nacional de las Artes, also in Argentina. Her second novel, “Abundancia”, was shortlisted for the CLARÍN Award, and received the LetraSur International Award in 2010 and has been translated into Croatian language as “Obilje”, published by Edicija Božičević in translation of Matija Janeš. Mori Ponsowy was co-founder and the first editor-in-chief of “lamujerdemivida” magazine, which won the Julio Cortázar Prize for the Best Cultural Magazine of the Year in 2002. She currently lives in the suburbs of Buenos Aires, and is working on her fourth novel.
