Mirjana Stefanović was born in Niš in 1939 and was educated in Novi Sad, Belgrade and Delhi, India. She holds a Master 's Degree in English Literature . Since 1966 till 1967 she worked as a contributing journalist to the Third programme of Radio Belgrade, since  1967 till 1973 she was a journalist editor of Children's radio newsroom . Since 1974 till the middle of 1991 she worked as the editor of books for children and youth in the Nolit publishing house. She has won several literary awards, of which we emphasize: Desanka Maksimović Award – for her entire poetic oeuvre and contribution to the Serbian poetry (2010). Bosanski stećak Award - International Award Association of Writers of Bosnia and Herzegovina ( 2013) . Her works are represented in more than 70 anthologies . Mirjana Stefanović  was invited to stay in Rijeka by the Croatian writers society.So far, the cooperation was primarily with European countries, and sporadically with Asian countries such as China, India and Japan. Programmes were mainly in form of short journeys of a number of authors with the main goal of reaching foreign audience. Nevertheless, quite a number of those trips resulted in successfull  partnerships with foreign publishers, mainly concerning the translations of Croatian writers in foreign languages. During his visit to Rijeka, Stefanović  will participate in the cultural life of the city.

Croatian Writers' Society is a non-governmental, non-political professional association of writers who are active within the Republic of Croatia meaning those who write in the Croatian language as well as those professional authors of literal and other texts who are in agreement with the aims and activities of the Society. The Society assembles writers of literary and other related texts, and for the protection of their professional rights and interests, for the promotion of standards of literary creativity and the general standard of the written and public word as well as the professional and public status of writers of literary and other related texts. In order to fulfil the aims, the Society cooperates with various partners which are concerned with the professional, vocational and cultural questions of literature and carries out numerosu activities, such as: publishing of literary, cultural and professional publications, organisation  of literary, professional and scientific gatherings, etc.
