• Miloš Tomić

  Miloš Tomić is a multimedia artist whose projects span film, photography, collages, sculpture. Tomić studied directing at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade and then animation at FAMU  in Prague — experiences that continue to influence his practice. His subjects are either composed of or preoccupied with disposable or disposed objects. In fact, his doctoral thesis was titled “Preciousness of discarded objects, i.e. trash as the material for film, photography…” Over the last 20 years, as an independent filmmaker he has collaborated with many other filmmakers, visual artists, musicians as well as with people from the margins of society. 

  He has exhibited in many festivals and exhibitions. In 2013 Miloš was the Serbian representative at the Venice Biennale. Currently, he explores everyday experiences and small, unnoticed things in daily life through video diaries alongside the production of stop motion animations. He lives and works in Belgrade.

• Magic Theater - Mirrors

  The artistic research "Magic Theater - Mirrors" is led by Ivana Peranić, an independent theater artist from Rijeka, in collaboration with film and multimedia artist Miloš Tomić.
  
  The research deals with the relationship between the body as a metaphor and the deep psychological processes of man, using the visual choreographic methodology of "mirroring", authentic movement as the basic starting creative element and stop trick animation, and its goal is to extract choreographic and multimedia material that deals with the subject of the complexity and duality of human nature. (spirit/body, man/wolf, Higher self/Lower self, conscious/unconscious) and to give the audience a high quality, innovative and elaborate work of physical and dance theater in the near future.
   
  The fundamental questions guiding this research are: In what relation are the so-called implicit memory and psychological development processes and the metaphoricity and expressiveness of the performer's body? What methods, tools and tasks can be used to "go through" the learned stylization of the codified performer's body (different body techniques) and arrive at an authentic movement as a basic constructed choreographic element? What are all the performative and scenic possibilities of combining the choreographic methodology of "mirroring" and stop trick animation?

  Arts organisation KRILA is a laboratory for contemporary theatre promoting progressive practices and creating engaging art works for local communities and citizens of Rijeka as well as supporting professionals and small independent European cultural operators in the field. In the development of our audiences: 1) we use unconventional theater spaces, 2) we engage the audience in the creative process and/or performance, 3) we approach the process of audience segmentation as an articulation of values. The strategic goals of the organization are:

  - to ensure stimulating conditions for the work, research and strengthening of the capacities of domestic freelance contemporary performing artists and raising the quality and visibility of their artistic production.

  - to develop and implement international cooperation projects with a special focus on contemporary performance practices, connecting and cooperating with international artists, educators, organizations and institutions.

  - to contribute to the improvement of the personal and professional development of children, young people and adults through educational theater content that meets their needs, relying on contemporary, collaborative, engaged and inclusive theater practices.
