  Prostor Plus  in cooperation with Residency Kamov brings Slovenian performing artist, Mateja Bučar, and the DUM Association of Artists. They'll try to develop Rijeka's version of urban choreography – Green table. During their residency in Rijeka from 1st until  4th December 2015, including participation of interested artist from Rijeka, they will work in shaping of urban choreography. 

  The DUM Association of Artists was  founded by Mateja Bučar in 1999. It brings together international artists , acting as a producer and co-producer for projects in various disciplines including the performing arts (contemporary dance), visual arts and new media projects.  DUM Association is a member of the Informal European Theatre Meeting (IETM).  Since 2000 the DUM Association has presented the following projects in the field of contemporary dance: Dependance, Telborg, Media-Medici, O Quadrate, Concept of concept, Room and Road, I would've been a palm tree. Point Less,… During 2006–2007 a complex international project The Brothers Karamazov (Volume 1 and Volume 2 – Made in China) was developed in collaboration with theoreticians  Renata Salecl and Robert Pfeiler, and international perform artists. During 2014 DUM was a guest with a project Unnoticed within Spajalica #2 – a series of art interventions in public space, in organization of Museum for Modern and Contemporary Art. 

  Mateja Bučar, after the classical ballet education in Slovenia (Ljubljana), continued with training in Centre de dance International Rosella Hightower in Cannes, and in 2015 she graduated from the University of London, Trinity Laban Conservatory of Music and Dance. She is a member of Slovenian National Theatre, of opera and ballet in Ljubljana, and of the Dance Theater Ljubljana. Since 1992 she is working as independent choreographer. She was choreographer for many performances, and in collaboration with Egon March Institute she created shows Ton-Ka, Cukrarna, and A B Sence.  In urban choreographies Mateja is interested since 2010 when she started her work on projects Green Light (2010), Parking-Packing (2012), Unnoticed (2013), Green Table (2015). 

  Project Green Table was organized by the DUM Association of Artist in co-production of Ljubljana City Museum, Theatre Šiška, and under the patronage of Culture Ministry of Republic of Slovenia, and Department of Culture of Ljubljana city.

  Mateja Bučar and DUM Association’s  residency was achieved in the organization of Prostor Plus as a part of the program for the development of the public Spaces , which is supported by City of Rijeka within the Residency program Kamov – in the cooperation with MMSU, Croatian National Theatre Ivan Pl. Zajc and the City of Rijeka.  The work of association Prostor Plus is supported by the Kultura Nova Fund, and the space of Filodrammatica is managed by SU Molekula.

  WORKSHOP GREEN TABLE – DEBATE WITH COFFEE

  The subject of the residency is the last of Mateja Bučar’s urban coreographies  - Green Table from 2015, that relies on the work of Kurt Jooss – Green Table from 1932. Jooss’ Green  Table represents  a turning point in the history of choreography – for the first time Jooss puts a (big) table as a space and object of the choreography, that is, on the big green table of 20^th century diplomacy he put, in the choreographic manner, timeless and impersonal war-trade and its profit. DUM, on the other hand, is interested for urban everyday, its coffee tables and stands, sidewalks and coffee bars of contemporary life. 

  At the workshop Mateja Bučar will research the idea of urban choreography. The subject of the research is (little) table in the public space (coffee bars, terraces). By sitting at the table, chatting – our personal/public life is passing by. On the debate with coffee, instead of words, we will use motion that will create choreographed situation of urban life. It will serve as a basis for consideration of idea of urban choreography itself from the theoretical, historical and personal perspectives. All interested dancers, choreographers, thinkers, writers, and everyone interested for the subject and reflection of public/urban space are invited to participate. 

  On Friday, December 4^th 2015 in Filodrammatica, at 4 pm the presentation of the workshop and the lecture of Pia Brezavšček will be held. Pia’s lecture is named Choreography for the Green Table and it will discuss the cultural and artistic transition from Jooss’ Green Table (1932) to the recent Maja Bučar’s urban choreography Green Table (2015), and the it will question how publicly and critically produce art in the society that is no more disciplinary, but it could rather be called, as Deleuze would say, the society of control. 

  The workshop is free and open for everyone. The participation is possible for four days, or just in particular day our hour – according to your free time and interests.   Prostor Plus is an association for performing arts from Rijeka that provides dance and physical theatre artists with training and performance opportunities. Since there are no higher education institutions for contemporary dance and physical theater in Croatia, Prostor Plus offers site-specific performances, lectures and film screenings to local audiences. Over the past last eleven years, this association has literally seeded the performing arts scene with artists, programs and productions displayed at some of the most important festivals in Croatia.
