Milan Tomášik

Milan is an artist dedicated to teaching, creating and performing. Born in Slovakia in 1981, currently resident in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He studied dance at the Conservatory J. L. Bellu in Banská Bystrica and at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. In 2004, he graduated from P.A.R.T.S., the international dance school in Brussels directed by Anna Teresa de Keersmaeker.

In 2004, he received the Prize of the City Prievidza (Slovakia) for representing contemporary dance at home and abroad. His teaching activities includes giving classes Happy Feet for professional companies, festivals and dance Academies as well as workshops Playful Presence in most of the countries in Europe, Argentina, China, Democratic Republic of Kongo, Russia, Puerto Rico and Mexico. He is a co-founder of Les SlovaKs dance collective, the company based in Brussels. With them, he created three dance performances (Opening Night, Journey Home and Fragments), and between 2007-2018 performed and toured worldwide, including most of the European capitals, Africa, China, Middle, North and South America.

Charlie Brittain

Charlie completed the ‘Artist in Process’ professional training program at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (AT), majoring in choreography. He graduated with distinction from the Professional Dance Course at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts (UK), having commenced his formal training at the Centre for Advanced Training, London Contemporary Dance School and been founding member of the English National Ballet Youth Company.

Charlie works internationally as a rehearsal director and choreographic assistant in a variety of artistic environments for choreographers such as Etta Murfitt, Kerry Biggin, Milan Tomášik & Co, Barnaby Booth, Jo Meredtih, Louise Bennett, Helen Parlor, Richard Chappell and Holly Noble; at SEAD he was assistant director to Helder Seabra, Jorge Crecis, Milan Tomášik, Paul Blackman & Christine Gouzelis. He was interim rehearsal director to SEAD’s Bodhi Project and spent three seasons as rehearsal director at the National Youth Ballet of Great Britain. Alongside his freelance portfolio he is Associate Creative Director at the National Youth Ballet of Great Britain, Associate Artist at English National Ballet and Rehearsal Director at Richard Chappell Dance. Alongside his commitment to dance, Charlie is a qualified Clinical Sports Therapist and musculoskeletal health specialist.

Endi Schrotter

Endi was born in the town of Pakrac, but based in Zagreb for over ten years, Endi Schrotter is one of the male contemporary dancers of a new millenial generation. He started his dance education in 2011 in 'Ana Maletic' highschool for contemporary dance. The same year Endi participates in a popular TV-show called 'Supertalent' (Croatian equivalent to the Britain's Got Talent) where he finished 4th in the Grand Final and the overall best solo dancer in the history of this TV talent competition. Throughout his highschool education he expends his performance experience in numerous competitions and festivals and becomes a multi-award winner. Endi is the 1st prize recipient of the 54th Croatian Music and Dance Students' Competition, and as well for that recognition he was awarded by an Oscar of knowledge by the Croatian Training and Education Agency (AZOO). In 2016, after finishing his highschool, he continues his education at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb, Croatia, where he gets his contemporary dancer's bachelor’s degree. Throughout his college education he perfected his performance in contemporary dance in the classes of Frey Faust, Milan Tomašik, Guy Nader, Matej Kejžar, Foriner Oritz, Magdalena Reiter, Petra Hrašćanec, Lurelin Richards and many others.

Indefinitive Frequency

27.06.-11.07.2021.

The aim of the project Indefinitive Frequency is to create a new full-length, movement-based contemporary dance work, created and performed by Milan Tomášik (Slovakia/ Slovenia), Endi Schrotter (Croatia) and Charlie Brittain (United Kingdom) in collaboration with Franci Krevh (Slovenia) and three other musicians from SToP, the Slovenian Percussion Project. The performance will be dynamic, immersive and atmospheric - juxtaposing compositional intellect with instinct to take the audience on an absorbing journey through micro and macro. The work will be representative of ever-changing landscapes, reflecting the concept of memory and the ripple effect that even seemingly minor experiences have on our identities.

Our artistic interest lies in exploring what it means to be and the endless, constantly re-shaping web of interactions that make us who we are. The work will reflect this by exploring how music and movement can combine to create powerful atmospheric charge within the performance space, with meeting points between the vibrational frequencies of sound and movement guiding the highly physical movement language.

We wish to engage and absorb our audience. The performance Indefinitive Frequency will provide an opportunity for viewers to immerse themselves in a highly charged and physical performance; to experience a renewed sense of ‘being’ and to be reminded of the depth and endless possibility of the human body, mind and soul in a time of technology and impersonality.

Croatian Cultural Centre in Sušak

Croatian Cultural Centre in Sušak (HKD)

HKD is a public cultural institution that hosts numerous cultural, educational and entertainment programs throughout the year with dance, drama, music, film and multimedia activities, as well as visual arts in the Kortil Gallery. Kortil has been operating as an exhibition space since 1997, with exhibition program open to contemporary domestic and foreign artists, applied art, for exhibitions of artists who marked the art of the 20th century, but at the same time for young authors who are just entering the art scene.  

HKD hosts educational programs with dance, drama and music workshops and training for children and young people. It also implements community programs such as Kortil live and has its own volunteering program.

HKD is a member of the European dance networks Aerowaves and Pan-Adria and the music/organizational network MOST Music.
