Katarzyna Krakowiak
Katarzyna Krakowiak. (1980., Poland) is a visual artist who in her work explores sculpture and architecture, using various media, primarily sound. In 2012. she represented Poland at the 13th International Architecture Biennale in Venice (Theme of the Biennale was Common Ground). Her work consisted of solo exhibitions in Polish Pavilion entitled Making the walls quake as if they were dilating with the secret knowledge of great powers, and the curator of the exhibition was Michal Libera. This exhibition has received special recognition by the Biennale. In 2006. Krakowiak graduated from the Sculpture Studio Transplantation at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan, at Miroslaw Balka, where she worked as an assistant since 2004. till 2007.. Her exhibitions include: Who Owns the Air?, Galeria Foksal (Warsaw, 2011,), and Game Theory, South London Gallery (London, 2009)..
Selection from group exhibitions: KUMU Museum (Tallinn, 2011.) And HMKV (Dortmund, 2011.). In 2011. she worked at the Urban Studio Interior Design (Department of Interior Design) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk (with Jacek Dominiczak). Through collaboration with Krzysztof Gutfranskim, as part of a series Ekspektatywa (dacja Bec zmiana, 2010.) she prepared and published a guide for making your own Metaphone.
