• Enya Belak

  Enya Belak is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans film directing, choreography, and beyond. With a background in contemporary dance, her research focuses on the body as primary subject. Since her MA in Directing Fiction Films at Goldsmiths University London, she has contributed to many film, music video and dance projects, as well as co-developing an innovative method for recording dance in virtual reality. Her directing work includes the acclaimed documentary Aerowaves at 25. As a choreographer, Enya recently presented the live dance duet BLUFF; and the multi-genre project Blue Ink, which encompasses dance, VR 360° film, and hybrid performance.

  Enya Belak, together with VR cinematographer Igor Crnković from Rijeka's Pilot Media, is directing the recording of Kristina Paunovski's ARTissue: Lineage performance in virtual reality. Filming takes place in the Maritime and Historical Museum of the Croatian Littoral, as part of a co-production between the Croatian Cultural Centre and the Greek DAN.C.CE Unitiva, as part of the Moving Balkans project supported by the European Union.

  HKD is a public cultural institution that hosts numerous cultural, educational and entertainment programs throughout the year with dance, drama, music, film and multimedia activities, as well as visual arts in the Kortil Gallery. Kortil has been operating as an exhibition space since 1997, with exhibition program open to contemporary domestic and foreign artists, applied art, for exhibitions of artists who marked the art of the 20th century, but at the same time for young authors who are just entering the art scene.  

  HKD hosts educational programs with dance, drama and music workshops and training for children and young people. It also implements community programs such as Kortil live and has its own volunteering program.

  HKD is a member of the European dance networks Aerowaves and Pan-Adria and the music/organizational network MOST Music.
