  Cindy Lynn Brown is a poet of Danish-American descent, born in 1973.  Her short stories and poems have been published in various magazines and anthologies in Denmark and in France. She won the prize for literature Danish Agricultural-culture foundation in January 2013. She studied literature and creative writing. In addition to writing, Cindy Lynn Brown is engaged in teaching, translation, ghostwriting and organizes international poetry festival in Odense, Denmark.

  While in Rijeka, author will be working on her new collection of poetry. The main subject is power and cultural understandings and misunderstandings in language. It touches things such as politeness, clichés, transgressions, everyday life, embarrassment, comfort zones, shadows and barriers. She translated her books into English and hopes to do poetry readings at various locations in Croatia and to meet a different audience than she issed to when she performs in Denmark. She is also the head of the international department of Danish Authors Society and organizes an International Poetry festival in Denmark, so she hopes to get a chance to meet many Croatian writers to exchange ideas and experiences and to hopefully be able to work together culturally in the future.  The aim is to expand her personal cultural understanding and be able to gain different perspectives that she will use in her artistic work but also to promote friendship and future cultural exchange and cooperation between Danish and Croatian writers.

  Croatian Writers' Society is a non-governmental, non-political professional association of writers who are active within the Republic of Croatia meaning those who write in the Croatian language as well as those professional authors of literal and other texts who are in agreement with the aims and activities of the Society. The Society assembles writers of literary and other related texts, and for the protection of their professional rights and interests, for the promotion of standards of literary creativity and the general standard of the written and public word as well as the professional and public status of writers of literary and other related texts. In order to fulfil the aims, the Society cooperates with various partners which are concerned with the professional, vocational and cultural questions of literature and carries out numerosu activities, such as: publishing of literary, cultural and professional publications, organisation  of literary, professional and scientific gatherings, etc.
