Alessandra Pomarico
Alessandra Pomarico (IT/US) is a curator at the intersection of arts, pedagogy, social issues, the poetics of relationship, and community building. Her recent context-based, long term initiatives include: Free Home University (2013 - ongoing), an artistic and pedagogical experiment focused on how we share and create knowledge by experiencing life in common; The Common Orchard for Minor Fruits (2014 - ongoing), a generative rural and social project in collaboration with organic farmers and activists; Ammirato Culture House (2012 - ongoing) a hub for social practices and a community center, and Sound Res (2004 - 2012), residency program, festival and summer school for new music.
Pomarico (PhD) is also a journalist, has published and lectured widely and is currently a member of the editorial team for Arts Everywhere for which she curates the section Pedagogy, otherwise. She lives between New York and Italy.
